High School Job Shadows
The GE Bangor High School Job Shadow Program allows high school students to learn more about GE Bangor through tours and job shadowing/observation. Our goal is to educate, inspire, and engage high school students who have interests in manufacturing, engineering and/or technology. Job Shadowing will be offered from 7-11 a.m. Monday-Friday. Not all requests for Job Shadowing can be accommodated.
This Hourly Leadership position will assist with CAD/CAM duties to support NC Machines throughout the GE Bangor facility.
Required Duties:
- Perform NC inputs (e.g. APT, Macro B, PC Mill, & others as required)
- Create new Vericut sessions & check programs
- Create programs with CAM software (e.g. Mastercam, Espree, Turbosoft, etc.)
- Fix programs (break/fix) independently when issues occur in the shop
- Assist in process team meetings
- Assist in quality (QOPF) form creation & improvement
- Assist in Workstation Book creation & updates
- Drive process improvements and participate in Lean Action Work Outs
- Run machines as assigned (if trained/qualified)
- Perform other duties as assigned
In addition to the above, the employee must, after normal training, be able to:
